EQUITY CROWDFUNDING: the Start-Up revolution arrives in Lecce

Friday 19 September at 9,30- 17 Officine Cantelmo, viale De Pietro 12, Lecce

Equity crowdfunding is considered a revolution in the development and financing of start-ups. In Italy it is still little known, for this , the Italian Association of Consulting Society for Research, Innovation and Development, and Dhitech, Apulian Technology District, have thought to dedicate a whole day to this innovative financing tool.

Appointment Friday 19 September from 9,30 at Officine Cantelmo by Lecce with the open day entitled "The equity crowdfunding in support of the innovative enterprise".

But what is the crowdfunding? Literally means "finance from the crowd", in practice it is a fundraiser that takes place online through and through a network of contacts (friends, followers or fans) and exploits the huge potential of Social Media. It's about "equity-based crowdfunding" when online investment acquires a real title of participation in a company.

A tool with enormous potential, therefore, in Italy still to be discovered, since there are very few examples, although very valid. On the Equity Crowdfunding, a strategic tool to get out of the crisis, spotlights are now focused on Lecce thanks to AISCRIS and Dhitech.

After institutional greetings by the Magnificent Rector Vincenzo Zara, the Mayor of Lecce Paolo Perrone, the President of the Province Antonio Gabellone, Regional Councillor for Economic Development Loredana Capone, will enter into the work, with interventions on regional policies, start-ups and business financing, crowdfunding. To follow, in the afternoon, one-to-one meetings of presentation and discussion of business ideas.

On the equity crowdfunding day, Dhitech project fellowships will take part.

Viva satisfaction is expressed by the President of AISCRIS Carlo Macculi: "I am proud that our Association can represent Italy within the European Crowdfunding Stakeholder Forum, the narrow table that the European Commission has set up to promote and govern the growth of equity crowdfunding. This new form of financing of enterprises, in fact, represents a decisive change to counter the credit crunch that continues to afflict our best business realities. Not less important is having the possibility of spreading this new culture in one of the most innovative areas of the country, but more than others have been affected by the crisis. "

"I have welcomed with great interest the proposal of the President of AISCRIS to deepen, with two national and international experts, on this new investment channel aimed at innovative start-up companies. ", President of Dhitech Lorenzo Vasanelli, which emphasizes: "The Technology District has focused its strategic plan 2013 – 2015 on five training projects aimed at creating some new professional figures of innovators entrepreneurs, that is, people who mature skills on the entrepreneurial valorization of the results of research. In this context, therefore, the opportunity to deepen the different aspects of crowdfunding to finance start-up companies is particularly significant. In the afternoon part of the workshop, researchers or young entrepreneurs will have direct face-to-face meetings with experts to submit their idea of business and check if there are conditions to start a financing path.”.

"I like to emphasize – continues Vasanelli –that while the workshop is an integral part of the training course of our young people, Dhitech has intended to offer this opportunity to all so that it represents a useful opportunity for all the components of a territory that has demonstrated in this area a liveliness and dynamism that we must encourage and support if we want to find ways out of this period of economic crisis.”
