The NANOAPULIA project (NANOfotocatalizers for a more PULitA Atmosphere) wants to engage Nanotechnologies (KET 2) to reduce air pollution due to nitrogen oxides (NOx), promoting the development of Sustainable Cities and Territories.
In particular, NANOAPULIA aims to develop nano-structured metal oxides with photo-catalytical properties in visible and ultraviolet for the formulation of innovative binders and mortars (building application) and for the realization of photo-catalytical reactors for the reduction of pollutants emitted by Diesel engines (a automotive application). In the course of the project, new diagnostic methods will be developed for the study of the toxicity of nanostructured semi-finished photocatalysts synthesized for the construction application and for the automotive application.
